My soul mate…
So many stories … yet to hear…
So many miles … Yet to walk…
So many dreams … Yet to see…
And together we shall…
I know you are coming so I run and hide behind the curtain … from the little hole I peep…
There I see you for the first time… as u walk in like a Lion… with a spring in your step…
I see u exuding a positive energy I could not fathom…
I did surely like you there and then … as I still stood glued behind the curtain…
Nothing new to you I guess as you must have heard this many a times…
Then I see you patting my dogs with love and warmth… and I also see them receive you with the same love and warmth…
And then I’m called… “Come on… U stupid girl… they have arrived…”
I’m decked up and rushed out with a tray of tea and I serve all… with a lopsided smile… I’m supposed to hide… hee hee…
Then I fall in love with my mother-in-law… and so loved my would be sister-in-law… Ohh they were so sweet and so nice to me…
We are pushed outside for a lunch together and as we are back I hear you announcing … Oh come on someone pass me the ring… get active… Mithai shithai khilao (get some sweets)… And I’m zapped … okay so here we are engaged… ohhhohh okaayy… That was news… I surely liked.
I see your hair bouncing up and down as you walk towards me and your face was glowing with youth and happiness … such an amazing sight… so vividly I remember…
Ever since life with you has been a stupendous rollar coaster… We explored each and every corner of Mumbai… was then Bombay and I fell in love with the town…
… the glamour of the world we lived in … the excitement.. the night outs… my first trip to a pub ‘TOTOS’ ( a happening place then in the suburbs of Mumbai) Ahaaahaa…
My first drink… A strong Rum n Coke… oh I so freaked out… ran out all over the road singinggg doo waa ddeeee dee doooo dum dee dee dooo… Till now in all these years Rum n Coke is still my favourite…
Then I never looked back… you held my hand and taught me how to walk… talk… from zero to 100 all over again did I learn from you…
I blossomed as a flower in a happy garden and I learnt how to spread love to everyone from you. All that I know today I learnt it from you.
Then I was blessed with two charming angels and I can never thank you enough for that as I became a mother and am reborn in the same lifetime…
You … the best husband… the best dad… the best son… and my best friend…
My soul mate is what you are…
As I remember this after spending a good 15 years with you… I am filled with so many happy memories… and I don’t regret a single moment I’ve spent in your gentle care… I couldn’t have asked for more…
As I see ahead … 30 years down the line… a pathway… a white house with a lot of greens… a wooden swing… a violin… me you … and a sunset…
Today on your 43rd birthday … The first in 15 years when I’m not with you…
I am so worried just how much fun you’ll have without me my dear…. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh…!!!
A very Happiiee Birthday to my Prince Charming … My Knight in Shining Armour…
Your favourite song from me…
